- Provide a services/API-first architecture based on federated sources of data and infuses predictive insights (ML and otherwise) in every aspect of our Platform and Experience.

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we build, deploy, and maintain our services. You will use your expertise in system architecture, service migration, and developer experience to create robust technological foundations that enhance our ability to deliver crisis support across the globe.

Responsibilities
- Product Delivery and Enhancement: Help set the tone of our product delivery streams to deliver value to our stakeholders promptly. Weigh in on the trade-offs to balance pragmatic delivery with scalable implementation patterns.
- Technical Strategy and Implementation: Contribute to discussions regarding technical strategy and participate in the implementation and rollout of products and frameworks that help implement those strategies.
- Cross-functional and team collaboration: Work across functions of Crisis Text Line, helping drive understanding.
- Continuous Improvement: Introduce and advocate for new tools, technologies, and processes to streamline and improve our ability to deliver high-quality software.
- DevOps as a Culture: Participate in initiatives to integrate processes into build pipelines, enabling continuous testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Production Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to help ensure business continuity for our customers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience programming in a high-level language
- 4+ years of experience in full-stack development
- Experience working with relational databases and GraphQL APIs
- Experience working with telemetry tools such as Datadog or Grafana
- Experience working with Terraform is a plus
- Experience working within cloud environments (we use AWS).
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to communicate analysis and reasoning clearly
Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.
The full salary range for this position, across all United States geographies, is $115,192 to $131,220. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
