  • Enable our global affiliates to power their crisis support operations in an efficient and dynamic environment 
  • Provide a services/API-first architecture based on federated sources of data and infuses predictive insights (ML and otherwise) in every aspect of our Platform and Experience.

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager leading our platform functions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we build, deploy, and maintain our services. You will use your expertise in system architecture, service migration, and developer experience to create robust technological foundations that enhance our ability to deliver crisis support across the globe.

Responsibilities

Build & Mature Our Ability to Deliver Our Crisis Care Product

  • Drive the development of a comprehensive DevEx toolkit including CLI tools, observability solutions, and testing frameworks
  • Lead the migration strategy from systems to Go services deployed on AWS while ensuring business continuity
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Create and maintain technical roadmaps that align with organizational goals and user needs
  • Establish engineering standards and best practices across teams to ensure quality, reliability, and maintainability

Team Leadership and Growth

  • Build and lead high-performing engineering teams focused on platform infrastructure
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation
  • Mentor and develop engineers to grow their technical and leadership capabilities
  • Facilitate career growth for direct reports through regular feedback and development opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform decisions support the broader organization's goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with software development supporting production systems
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in people management and/or supervision/team leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.

The full salary range for this position, across all United States geographies, is $135,520- $144,180 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
